Easy to assemble and rewarding to fly, Kit Kite sparks imagination, engages physical activity, and brings joy to kids of all ages. Your child creates a one-of-a-kind, uniquely patterned kite.
PRODUCT CONCEPT. Kit Kite comes in four different color sets. However, multi-color combinations and patterns are endless as children's creativity progresses and as multiple kits are used to layout single kites. Given this, Kit Kite has organic, high-volume sales potential. Each kit contains pre-cut triangles, backing, a light-weight dowel brace, streamer tails, and kite string.
To illustrate a broad range of pattern possibilities, I programmed a computer language to generate unlimited, randomly-designed patterns. Many of these patterns make up the banner graphic.
LOGO + PACKAGING. Triangles are the product. Hence, an arrangement of four triangles creates the product's logotype, forming a K in the negative space. Hard-to-miss, triangle-shaped, branded packaging is simply a linear pattern of kit-color logotypes.
IN-STORE DISPLAY. 144 kits can be displayed in the stand alone point-of-purchase unit. Horizontal shelves separate the four kits, whereas diagonal shelves allow the triangle-shaped packages to slide down into neat stacks. Side strips on the point-of-purchase unit do not obstruct; they align with the packages’ logos. Different colored package tops create the front of the stand-alone, end cap unit.
